BREATHWORK
Have you ever felt like something was trapped in your body — grief, fear, or tension you couldn’t quite name or release?
Holotropic Breathwork invites you into a deeper layer of healing that bypasses words and taps into the innate wisdom of your body. Using intentional, rhythmic breath patterns and evocative music, this experience allows stuck energy, unprocessed emotions, and unconscious beliefs to surface, shift, and integrate.
Unlike talk therapy, this work isn’t about explaining—it’s about experiencing. It’s for those who feel disconnected, stuck, emotionally overwhelmed, or simply curious to explore the deeper terrain of their inner world. You’ll be safely guided and supported throughout, with time to reflect and integrate what emerges. This is your chance to reconnect with your breath, your body, and the parts of you ready to heal.

FAQ
-
Holotropic breathwork induces a non-ordinary state of consciousness using rapid, full connected breathing and music. Unlike somatic or diaphragmatic practices designed for relaxation or present-moment mindfulness, it’s an intense, experiential modality developed by Stanislav and Christina Grof in the 1970s for emotional processing and expanded awareness.
Holotropic Breathwork is best for those ready to engage at depth and process what arises. People with certain health conditions—cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, uncontrolled hypertension, glaucoma, or pregnancy—should consult a medical provider and discuss suitability before attending.
-
A typical session lasts between 1 and a half to 3 hours. This includes time for pre-session grounding and intention setting, about 60–90 minutes of active breathwork, and integration time afterward through rest, reflection, journaling, or creative expression. Longer workshops or retreats may involve multiple breathwork sessions, movement, or community processing.
-
You’ll begin by meeting with your facilitator and possibly a small group (if in a group setting) to discuss intention, safety, and what to expect. Then, you’ll settle into a comfortable position—often lying on a mat or blanket—and begin guided, continuous connected breathing while listening to a specially curated music set. A facilitator or “sitter” is present to offer grounded support, but you are always in control of your process. Afterward, we’ll spend time helping you integrate the experience through reflection, discussion, movement, or art.
-
Each person’s experience is deeply personal.
You may feel:
Energized or calm
Emotional or peaceful
Connected to memories, imagery, or physical sensations
A sense of lightness, warmth, or tingling in the body
Movement impulses, vocal expression, or tears
You are always encouraged to follow what your body needs—whether that means stillness, sound, movement, or rest. Some may experience discomfort as difficult material arises. Your facilitator will help guide you as needed throughout the process.
-
After a session, you might feel:
Clear, light, or deeply at peace
Emotionally raw or open
Energized or physically tired
A sense of emotional release or spaciousness
Insightful, grounded, or reflective
Some people notice positive shifts for days or weeks. Others may feel stirred up and need additional grounding or support. Integration is part of the healing—so be gentle with yourself and allow time to reflect, rest, or move afterward.
-
Although we do have all the necessary items to support your session, you may feel called to bring your own.
Please feel free to bring any of the following items you feel called to:
A yoga mat or blanket to lie on
A pillow or bolster for comfort
An eye mask if desired (can help with going inward)
A water bottle
A journal or art supplies for post-session reflection
Comfortable layers—your temperature may fluctuate
Any grounding tools you prefer (e.g. crystals, fidgets, essential oils)
-
Avoid alcohol or substances at least 24 hours before
Eat lightly—a heavy meal beforehand can feel uncomfortable
Set an intention, but stay open to whatever arises
Get a good night’s sleep
Wear comfortable, breathable clothing
Let your facilitator know of any health conditions, emotional concerns, or recent stressors so the experience can be tailored to your needs.
